Senior ScientistUnilever Hpc Jun 2000 - Sep 2009At the forefront of efforts to simplify our laundry powder formulations across the world, he has developed recommendations, and worked with the regions to implement the project, which saved tens of millions of Euros. He was a leading member of the team which developed Unilever's current surfactants strategy. Latterly, developed new formulation routes for concentrated laundry products, and provided technical support to the sustainability initiative. In this, and previous role, developed a number of training courses, which I have offered our development managers from across the world, converting one into an e-learning package used extensively in the business. -
Product Development ChemistUnilever 1984 - 2000He worked as a formulator for laundry powders, both for Europe and the US, but mainly for Developing and Emerging markets for the past 20 years. For several years he was principal contact for Unilever's Laundry businesses in Asia and Africa for laundry powders, advising on technical queries, quality issues, and formulations/formulation routes for new product launches and relaunches. He was repsonsible for developing a new generation of powders for both handwash and machine wash in our Developing and Emerging markets. These became market leaders in the early 1990'a and are still top-selling products to this day.

Process Development ChemistUnilever Hpc Oct 1976 - Feb 1984He developed a mathematical model of powder granulation processes, and built up expertise in physical and dissolution properties of powders. He then spent 4 years developing spray drying processes to make zero-phosphate detergent powders for Europe and the US in the early to mid 1980's. He also developed novel bleach granules.
