Learned the role and duties of a physical therapist aide/trainer by observing/shadowing experienced trainers and PTs, directing patients through exercises and other rehabilitative modalities (i.e. ultrasonic therapy & cold/hot compressions), and scheduling patients for future appointments. I built rapport and meaningful relationships with patients and staff, developed the skill to effectively communicate cues and directions for patients, and learned the rehabilitative philosophy and biomechanical approach behind Active Care PT.

Developed and lead an exercise program tailored towards Dementia patients at the Institute on Aging Presidio Enrichment Center under the University of San Francisco's Community Engaged Learning pedagogical framework.

Helped organize and prepare the Spring Food Box and Weekend Wellness program that gave nutrient dense foods to children and families in the Tenderloin, San Francisco under the University of San Francisco's Community Engaged Learning course framework.

Observed patient evaluations and treatment through multiple therapy modalities and built connections with therapists, aides, and patients. I learned the flow and the orientation of an out-patient physical therapy clinic and gained academic and professional insight from licensed therapists and aides.

Observed, treated, and documented patients’ needs under the supervision of a licensed Physical and Occupational Therapist. Performed non-invasive treatment procedures to improve patient functionality. Learned new skills and applied them to daily tasks in order to improve efficiency and productivity.
