Manage the Foundation's grantmaking in the Vibrant Spaces and Communities (VSC) impact area. The portfolio includes investments of $2M+ annually to operations, programming, capacity building, and capital campaigns for Memphis-area nonprofits that support affordable housing development and preservation, high quality parks and trails, multi-modal transportation mobility, economic/workforce development, and environmental sustainability.

Program Officer for the Foundation's Vibrant Spaces and Communities portfolio. The portfolio provides direct investments, capacity-building support, and technical assistance to Memphis-based projects and organizations working on issues related to housing, community development, transportation mobility, small business development and entrepreneurship, parks, and trails in Memphis' central core.

In late 2011, Bloomberg Philanthropies awarded a grant to the city of Memphis establishing the Mayor’s Innovation Delivery Team. Memphis is one of just five Pioneer Cities nationwide chosen to participate in this unique opportunity – the largest private-sector investment in social innovation in our nation’s history. Now known as Innovate Memphis, the organization is charged with developing and delivering bold ideas that the city can implement to address some of Memphis’ most pressing challenges.Served as the Downtown Memphis Landfill Diversion project manager, exploring supply and demand-side solutions for improving the volume of solid waste diverted from residential and commercial accounts in downtown Memphis. Focus on waste reduction, recycling, and composting as mechanisms for changing consumer behavior. Research includes qualitative key informant interviews with stakeholders, environmental scans and analysis of municipal landfill diversion best practices and circular economy initiatives, and systems design drafting. Provide additional support on other Innovate Memphis projects in areas including transit access and commute options, blight remediation, and community investment financing.

Established PRR's new Portland office while helping to manage communications and logistics as a part of the Oregon Department of Transportation's Road Usage Charge Program (RUCP). Led a number of projects in Oregon, Washington, and California, providing full service communications, integrated marketing, and public engagement in the fields of urban development, sustainable food systems, transportation, and public policy.

Support senior staff in the development of public involvement, strategic communication, and marketing strategies for planning and public affairs projects throughout the Puget Sound. Projects include the new Alaskan Way SR 99 bored tunnel and seawall replacement program, expansion of Link light rail with Sound Transit into north Seattle and east of Lake Washington, and the implementation of new place-based marketing strategies for Pike Place Market. Provide research support to the business development team in the monitoring and acquisition of new public and private sector contracts.

Research Assistant for Dr. Mark Purcell within the Urban Design & Planning Department at the University of Washington College of Built Environments.

Project manager and policy liaison at community-based nonprofit with a 26-year history of providing effective, high quality and culturally-sensitive public health education, intervention, and policy development. Responsible for managing $100k annual contract under the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health to create smoke-free multi-unit housing and public parks. Assisted in leading Youth Advocate program to promote civic engagement and educational advancement for 30+ local Pasadena middle and high school students. Additional responsibilities included grant writing, event planning, and partnership development.

Interviewed prospective students interested in attending Occidental College. Conducted information sessions for families on application and financial aid processes. Drafted detailed evaluations & reports on each individual to be utilized in the admissions process. Assisted in the reading of applications submitted by prospective students.

Produced and implemented community outreach initiatives for the 2009 Eagle Rock Music Festival. Developed sponsor relations with local businesses and helped manage social media and marketing materials.

Assisted in the organization of recent victims of foreclosure and individuals subject to predatory lending practices. Conducted comprehensive research and advocacy for strengthened inclusionary zoning laws in the city of Los Angeles. Attended union meetings and helped rally support for issues imperative to the upcoming elections.

Designed and implemented a first year cultural studies program with Professor Kirsten Wandschneider entitled "The Economics of Social Issues in Los Angeles". Scheduled and arranged for students to engage in community service endeavors with local community based organizations and schools.Attend bi-weekly meetings with other EIA partners to discuss our activities and share

Worked in the Los Angeles office's Strategic Writing and Research Department. Compiled daily listings of national and local news stories on topics such as voter disenfranchisement, voting rights, and voter suppression that were distributed to Project Vote members across the United States. Created a comprehensive report on Youth Voting in the United States that was distributed at a national ACORN conference in Washington D.C.

Worked in conjunction with school's sports polling center to design and administer polls on topics such as politics and sports, to be utilized by news outlets such as ESPN and NBC.Tasks included national outreach and phone banking, development of questionnaires and research on related topics in a close, collective environment with nine other peers.

Worked in conjunction with local election officials and Seton Hall University Democrats to organize and develop a grassroots campaign for Senator Bob Menendez's re-election campaign. Organized local student and community rallies. Performed canvassing of local neighborhoods up to and on Election Day.
