I lead our mechanical engineering and simulation team. We execute a wide variety of mechanical engineering projects related to industrial machinery, on- and off-highway mobile equipment, and agricultural machines and processes. We contribute all the way through PAMI's research-design-build-test-document value process.Our simulation efforts leverage numerical modeling and physical testing to develop data-driven solutions for industrial R&D and technology development projects in the agriculture, transportation, and mining sectors. Ranging from statsical models, to complex multiphysics simulations using CFD, DEM, MBD, and FEA, our projects focus on:- Improving system performance while reducing development costs, schedules, and risk.- Developing value–adding technologies and measurement capabilities for improved operations and equipment performance.- Quantifying and developing operational improvements through simulation and test.

Plan, execute, and manage advanced analysis and simulation projectsDevelop project plans/proposals and manage in-progress projects ($1M+, managed 5+ technical staff), including organizing and negotiating for internal resources during design, testing, and fabrication. Experience with MS ProjectTechnical and project risk managementPlan and conduct simulations (FEA, CFD, DEM) of machinery systems to quantify product and system performance. Applications ranging from heavy mobile equipment (load capacity, fatigue life, interactions with soil) to novel building systems (building code compliance and structural performance).Plan and conduct physical testing to support numerical modeling-focused or standalone projects, including selecting sensors, writing testing procedures, and conducting data analysisKnowledge of OH&S regulations through OH&S Committee membership from January 2018 to 2021.

Investigate and develop new technologies for agricultural seeding equipment- Develop new technology for future products through experimental testing and data analysis, and simulation- Identify and assess development risk, and the applicability and value of new candidate technologies/methods- Monitor technology opportunities for equipment improvement (methods, sensors, research results)- Control system algorithm design and development using NI LabVIEW and MATLAB

Thesis Project: analyze and model the dynamics of agricultural seeding implement's soil tools and frame. Project goal is to increase operational speed while maintaining optimal seed placement and packing pressure. Tasks included:- create instrumentation setup for collecting implement vibration and force data in field- write analysis programs for time- and freqency-domain processing of test data- soil-tire and soil-tool interaction models- dynamic modeling in MATLAB/Simulink

- Involved in early-project simulation to develop system-level chassis performance characteristics and design targets- Data analysis of current model and competitor vehicles to develop system level performance targets- Full vehicle and system-level bench testing and data analysis/interpretation to support performance target development of ride-comfort and vibration, and body structures

- Supervise underground high-pressure grouting operation for mine rehabilitation and de-watering- Equipment sizing investigations- Experience in underground development operations

- Responsible for the overall design, construction and development of Formula SAE car team as the head technical advisor. Ensure communication between various design groups while keeping project on schedule- Liaising with suppliers/sponsors inside the university as well as in the community- Designed vehicle frame in Solidworks and analyzed with ANSYS. Exceeded weight reduction goal

- Responsible for overall design and construction of engine package based on a Honda 600F4i engine. Designed new intake system and managed the design of custom exhaust system. - Engine testing, tuning, and development. Operation of engine dynamometer - Perform powertrain maintenance and engine rebuilds

- Assist with site surveying of various infrastructure construction projects- Lead initial site surveys for new projects- Coordinate surveying requirements with on-site construction personnel to meet project construction milestones
