Dr. Hutchison has over 50 years of experience in technical and financial risk management, mine planning and environmental engineering, remediation engineering, and in value contracting. He has a Ph.D. in civil engineering.As president of SRK USA he was involved in the design and construction of tailings and waste rock disposal and heap leach facilities, and mine dewatering systems. As senior vice president with TRC, he had corporate responsibility for mining environmental, RCRA, and CERCLA, activities in the US, Canada and South America. Dr. Hutchison has also developed value contracting type approaches to completing remediation projects . He has been responsible for savings of $10s millions on remediation projects.As president of SES Inc. he has been involved in new mine panning in California, Argentina and Mexico, mine closures in California, remediation planning for Honolulu Harbor and peer review for remediation projects for a large aerospace company in California. As Director with SLR Consulting, he has been involved with the planning and design of mine waste and water management systems for new mines in Ontario and Quebec and sediment dredging projects in Victoria, and Thunder Bay, in Canada. He serves on the Canadian Government's peer review panel for approximately 20 mine closures in the Northwest Territories and Yukon, and has acted as an expert in litigation involving remediation of hundreds of gas stations in the North East US and for a mine site in El Salvador.As HutchisonEngineering Inc. since 2018, Dr. Hutchison provides strategic consulting and team management services for mining, aerospace and oil industry clients. He has served or serves on several peer review boards for mine tailings facilities and mine closures in Canada, Laos, PNG, Mexico, Chile and Brazil. He also serves as a testifying expert witness on ground and surface water and environmental remediation cases.
