They will also learn coping strategies using Cognitive Behavioural methods and relaxation techniques to deal with depression, anxiety and many symptoms of PTSD. Working in small groups assists learning and allows the development of a peer support network. These networks have frequently continued, on an informal basis, long after the completion of the course. There are other resilience programmes based in London, Bristol, Liverpool, Oxford and Northampton (when external funding was available). For participants, the programme is offered without charge.
