I’m Ian Ravenscroft. I help people use technology, creativity, and strategy to drive meaningful change and impactful ideas. I’m a creative innovation consultant, strategy lead, and professional mentor with a specialism in future-facing technologies, cross-sector approaches, and the creative industries. I operate in a freelance capacity through my company Green Raven and current clients include Arts Council England, Creative UK, Creative East, Juice Immersive, STEAMhouse, and The Space.Organisations hire me to apply my creative and production experience to help them deliver change, win funding, develop ideas, and transform how they work to positively impact their output. I also support people build their businesses and creative careers through mentoring, consultancy, and programme support. My background is varied but drawn together by a desire to enable innovation and originality. I’m ex-BBC innovation, which instilled a values-based creative discipline, as well as a former writer and producer. One of my current roles is XR Strategy Lead at Juice Immersive where I’m an embedded specialist focused on developing commercial roadmaps for the adoption of emerging, immersive, and future-facing technologies.I’m also an advisor on the Bloomberg Digital Accelerator Programme for Arts Council England through which I have supported Royal Shakespeare Company, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Horniman Museum, FACT, and Yorkshire Sculpture Park with more to come. I am also currently a funding assessor for The Space, a mentor for Barclays Eagle Labs with STEAMhouse, and a mentor for Creative UK, Creative East, and the Create Growth Programme. Recent creative production projects include devising and delivering a virtual reality narrative for the British Film Institute (BFI) and exploring photogrammetry-led VR for StoryFutures with Second Home Studios. I also guided augmented reality projects for Coventry City of Culture and the Birmingham Commonwealth Games festival with Create Central.Before founding Green Raven, I was a member of the BBC’s Digital Guerrillas content innovation team and then BBC Three.Before that I worked in digital agencies across the cultural sector.
