I am starting a new position as Senior Vice President, Barnes and President, Barnes Aerospace, Before joining Barnes, Ian Reason was the Operating Company President of Triumph Mechanical Solutions, Interiors & Structures with P&L responsibility (~$580M) for 15 sites located in the US, Mexico, UK, Isle of Man, France & Germany. An inspirational leader and collaborative team builder, he is growth oriented with the proven ability to quickly expand both sales and margins in underperforming businesses.Previously, Ian has been the Triumph Group Vice President for Military Business Development and the lead for facilitating aftermarket growth across the entire group. Prior to Triumph, Ian was with BAE Systems for 12 years in the UK and US undertaking various business development, general management and P&L leadership roles. He held senior positions on the F-35 program including 7 years at Lockheed Martin’s Fort Worth, TX facility as the Global Sustainment Customer Alignment Director and then as the BAE Systems VP/GM for the F-35 program. Ian also served as VP of Business Development for Training Solutions.Prior to BAE Systems, Ian, a proud and accomplished veteran, served for 24 years as a commissioned officer in the Royal Navy, specializing as an Aircraft Engineering Officer working at sea with both fast jets and rotary wing aircraft, with operational service in the Falklands, Persian Gulf and Kosovo. Ian was made a Member of the British Empire by HM the Queen for his operational performance and leadership. His final military role was the F-35 program sustainment lead in Washington DC.Ian earned his bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering at the Royal Naval Engineering College, his master’s of science in guided weapons at Cranfield University and his master’s of arts in defense studies at Kings College London. He also attended leadership development programs at Oxford’s Said business school and the Wharton business school in Pennsylvania.
