I work as a scientist on the risk assessment team where I assist in the writing of Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments as well as Property Specific Risk Assessment Reports. Additionally, I work alongside the field sampling team to collect groundwater, soil, vapor, surface water, sediment and air analytical data in an attempt to investigate and delineate environmental issues.

I teach undergraduate biology lab courses for pre-med and biology majors. I also teach a non-major environmental science lab. My responsibilities include instructing approximately 75 students per semester and grading assignments and exams. In addition to teaching, I conduct research for my Master's Thesis out of the Geographic Information Systems and landscape ecology lab. I also attend a series of weekly discussions of primary literature in topics such as landscape ecology, remote sensing, herpetology, and phycology.

Cleveland/Akron, Ohio Area

I was a field and lab technician and did on-site sampling and consulting for companies in Ohio. My job spanned from preliminary lab testing and sample processing to data entry into LIMs system and industrial wastewater treatment sampling and analysis.

Cuyahoga Heights, Ohio

As Lead Co-op I monitored e-coli and toxic algae levels and the overall water quality of Edgewater, Euclid, and Villa-Angela Beaches of Lake Erie. I also assessed water quality in rivers and streams in the Greater Cleveland Area using various methods. Aquatic invertebrate sampling and identification as a means of determining water quality. Electrofishing in local streams and rivers and identification and documentation of the fish that were collected. I assisted both Lead and Senior Investigators on monitoring the mercury levels of the influent and effluent of Cleveland's wastewater treatment plants. I assisted the Industrial Surveillance team in the inspection of industrial complexes in the Greater Cleveland Area.
