Appointed Chief Operating Officer for Harworth Group plc in April 2019, with day-to-day responsibility for both its Capital Growth and Income Generation functions. This principally involves managing teams in four regional offices in Rotherham, Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham to maximise the underlying value of Harworth's net assets (currently valued at approximately £466.5m) whilst growing its recurring income base (currently at c. £19m pa) to cover its operating costs and to satisfy banking requirements. This role requires a delicate balance being struck between Harworth continuing to deliver market-leading total returns, whilst not losing the company's ethos of delivering operational excellence in geographic areas that urgently require sensitive regeneration. Leadership style encompasses trusting direct reports to deliver tightly set objectives in the best manner they see fit, whilst bringing a rigorous analytical challenge at all levels to maintain financial and commercial discipline and focus.Member of Harworth Group Plc Board, Investment Committee and Management Board.Previously led Harworth's Income Generation portfolio comprising some £250m of development land and property across the Midlands and North of England focused on generation of recurring income steams from direct development, retained commercial portfolio and income from natural resources, minerals and aggregates.Since 2014, delivered the transformation of Harworth's Income Generation Segment which saw Harworth directly develop over 1m sq.ft of commercial property in nationally significant locations such as Rotherham, Bolton, Barnsley and Leeds. The Segment acquired circa £100m of income-producing assets for its' various portfolios and has disposed of over £30m of surplus/mature assets, in order to drive accelerated NAV growth for the business.
