When clients confide in me about business issues or their personal life, it shows the level of trust they have and that’s extremely rewarding. Described by my clients as humble, no-nonsense and ‘one of the nicest people you could meet’, one of my greatest attributes is my ability to provide clients with practical and jargon-free advice. I believe the sign of a good advisor is not someone who ‘bamboozles with technicalities’, but who can make difficult concepts very simple. Renowned for my tax expertise, I take the time to truly understand an issue before offering solutions. Often it is the client who has to implement what we recommend so it’s important you take the time to help them understand what you’re telling them. I strongly believe that the primary consideration in any situation should be the commerciality of the matter, with tax consequences being a secondary focus. My extensive knowledge of tax issues is widely sought after in the business community, I was instrumental in achieving changes to retirement planning for SMEs in 2007 through lobbying of the Senate Committee for Superannuation. I have worked tirelessly to influence tax reform for small to medium business and I was recently recognised by The Tax Institute with a meritorious service award.I enjoy being able to add value to my clients’ businesses and I am rewarded by seeing my advice lead to a successful outcome.
