Working within the Arcadis fire team and working closely with Arcadis client’s my responsibilities include:• Acting as a Technical Advisor on the remediation works of their building’s external wall systems.• The Peer Review of their 3rd party PAS9980 Fire Risk Appraisal of External Wall (FRAEW) reports. • Supporting and advising clients with their Building Safety Cases and their Building Safety Case reports.

My role responsibilities included:• Reviewing of Fire Risk Appraisal of External Wall (FRAEW) reports.• Reviewing Retrospective Fire Safety Strategies (RFSS).• Identifying and producing gap analysis reports on clients High Rise Buildings for their Building Safety Cases.• Using the Claim Argument Evidence approach working with clients to produce their Building Safety Case reports ready for submission to the Building Safety Regulator (BSR).• Supporting clients with the production of their Resident Engagement Strategies.

Managing a small team and working directly with Arcadis clients, my team and I were responsible for:• The Production of Building Safety Case Reports.• Carrying out the investigation and assessment of external walls in their existing buildings, via review of their assets “As Built” drawings and as part of the team carrying out onsite surveys, to determine whether the correct materials and construction installation methods have been followed and where these have not, advising them on fire management remedial solutions.• The Peer Review of 3rd party PAS9980 Fire Risk Appraisal of External Wall (FRAEW) reports. • Carrying out dilapidation surveys on clients existing sprinkler systems and producing conditional reports for their stakeholders.• Providing fire safety support for Technical Due Diligence reports.• Providing Fire Safety Management Plans (FSMP’s) for existing buildings.

Whilst working remotely, liaised with the sales estimating team and reported to the Sales Director. Dealt with customer enquiries and where necessary generated quotations for their enquiries. Reporting directly to the Contracts Director I was responsible for planning contracts. Liaised with Project Design Engineers on all technical aspects, and all departments necessary to achieve objectives, including client contacts. Attended site and contract meetings where necessary. Maintained good communication with the office staff and site operatives. Ensured contract completion was on time and to forecast. Day to day supervision of site operatives and where applicable carried out training to ensure satisfactory performance. Ensured that efficient use was made of plant and materials and that they were provided and returned in a timely manner. Produced and updated specific strategy plans for the role and increasing company client base and market share. Regularly attended and chaired meetings of simultaneously ran contracts ranging from £5,000.00 to £1,300,000.00.

Worked directly with customers to understand their processes to develop the best solutions for their requirements. Worked with the company sales team to professionally represent the company at a customer level, gathered data, and asked the right questions to define a project. Worked with project engineers and designers to develop and quote cost effective solutions. Recognised and understood the customer’s needs, made suggestions for viable solutions, and quickly developed budgetary numbers. Accuracy was essential. Additional Basic responsibilities included Technology research / analysis, Cost analysis and estimating, Develop value-added propositions and proposal writing.

Managed projects within the North East region, and regularly called upon to assist Project Managers from other regions. Controlled project targets (budgets) and ensured commercial claims for changes and variations were made. Collated bids for sub contract and key supply items of product for Regional and Construction Management approval.

Provided engineering and technical support for the layout, design and specification of fire protection systems. Project managed all operational aspects of each contract from start to finish and beyond in terms of servicing of completed projects. Ensured exposure to risk was minimised due to continually updated health and safety, risk management qualifications and employed this knowledge in day to day methodology. Created and executed project work plans and revised as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. Identified resources needed and assigned individual responsibilities. Tracked and reported team hours and expenses on a weekly basis and managed project budget. Managed day to day operational aspects of each project. Effectively applied UK Firewatch’s methodology and enforced project standards. Ensured project documents were completed, current and were stored appropriately. Record keeping was always of a high standard and incorporated the use of database and spread sheet applications. Analysed project profitability and revenue and ensured the smooth running of multiple small works projects. These had a ceiling revenue figure of £300,000. Facilitated regular team and client meetings and effectively communicated relevant project information to line managers.

Responsible for management of the fabrication shop and gained experience of dealing with multiple projects. Scheduled both labour and work flow through the facilities to maximise output and efficiency. Involved in the setting up of the plant layout, co-ordinated the installation and commissioning of the machinery, selected and trained the technicians, managed production and ensured all health and safety guidelines were adhered to.

Responsible for the layout, assembly, installation, pressure testing and servicing of fire sprinkler systems, ensuring that they were installed as per the approved drawing, where deviations were necessary, identifying any alteration’s on the drawing and advising the design team.
