After receiving my bachelor's in French from Utah State University, I spent a year in Bordeaux working in a high school through the French Ministry of Education. The impact my time in France had on me made it clear that new cultural experiences would always be important to me.Eager to develop myself as a leader, I joined the United States Air Force as an officer. My opportunities in the Air Force have enabled me to achieve things and grow personally in ways that I would have never thought possible. As an RQ-4 pilot, I quickly grew in my abilities to coordinate the efforts of airmen around the world in accomplishing missions that provide critical intelligence in developing our nation's defense strategy. As I gained experience, I was privileged with additional responsibilities involving training new and inexperienced pilots as an instructor, managing the operational schedule for our squadron's aircrews, and managing the readiness and deployment programs for our squadron. I have also deployed to Sigonella Naval Air Station in Italy, to Anderson Air Force Base in Guam, and Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii. All of these assignments allowed me to further widen my perspective as I participated in supervising operations, building relationships with the United States Military's global partners, and adapt to unique problems on the fly (no pun intended). My service in the military has further inspired my desire to learn from world cultures as I work to positively impact organizational culture.
