My role at Boeing was centered around estimating the supplier impact of proposed design changes made to the company's different models - usually the 747 and 767 - to help ensure that engineering's proposals are financially viable. This involved communicating with the design engineers working on the change to understand the statement of work (which parts are being added/revised/removed, production schedules, etc.), utilizing a broad range of databases and information repositories to obtain whatever technical details and exact prices are available for parts, and making use of established estimating tools to fill in the remaining gaps. Once the estimate is developed, I reach out to the budget managers - the procurement agents for each supplier - to get their concurrence on the dollar amounts, then send it to another estimator who rolls it into the business case that goes forward to finance leadership for approval.I also work on several special projects that involve either developing/enhancing estimating tools for particular portions of the plane, or tracking the rest of my team's progress in hitting several goals that our senior manager has set for the year.In the process of performing these duties, I have developed my existing knowledge of corporate finance, and gained a better understanding of a complex (and often international) supply chain - from identifying requirements, part design, and drawing release all the way to assembly and final contract negotiations.

I worked on a variety of projects and different components of the fundraising process, all with one goal in mind: to help the college's gift officers prioritize and determine which prospects are most worth our efforts, or which people are the strongest candidates for solicitation. I also helped to ensure that our records are as current and accurate as possible.Prospect Research, Identification & Wealth Capacity Rating:-Conduct qualitative research using online databases (ResearchPoint, iWave, Zillow, county records) to verify financial capacity and identify individuals with sufficient capacity to make major gifts to the college.-Maintain and update data in Raiser’s Edge (RE) to keep constituent information up-to-date for development staff.-Monitor constituent updates to identify major gift prospects, using Google Alerts and similar resources.Prospect Management:-Produce and distribute summary and detailed reports of prospect status for use by development officers.-Participate in quarterly constituent portfolio reviews, to update constituent status or gift officer assignment.-Create data visualizations in Tableau to illustrate where our strongest donors are and highlight donation patterns.

Working with another student who is pursuing a career as an actuary. Our goal for the 2016-2017 school year was to revitalize the Actuary Club at St. Olaf. We accomplished this by:-Hosting an initial meeting to give a broad overview of the actuarial profession and answer questions from interested students.-Promoting info sessions on actuarial internships/positions from Minneapolis-based companies (Ameriprise, Travelers, Allianz Life, etc).-Starting a pre-professional program for actuarial science at St. Olaf.-Hosting an info session from an experienced actuary who talked more about the career in general, as opposed to specific companies/positions.-Organizing and hosting social events, such as a bowling party and a movie night.

Summer Internships - 2013 through 2016.Working for Natural Grocers post IPO, I assisted with the rapid growth of new store openings and the implementation of new reporting, programs, and technology. Within a small company, I had exposure to C level activity, worked cross- functionally across departments, provided tech support to customers and staff, and worked with outside third parties.Project Management/Support-Created project timelines with Basecamp and monitored the status of new store openings across all departments.-Generated weekly status reports for CFO and Co-President for all new store openings.-As the point of contact, resolved reward/account issues with store staff during loyalty program rollout.Business Intelligence/Analytics-Analyzed data compiled on NGVC’s loyalty program, in order to: predict the number of new customer registrations per week at stores that hadn’t yet activated the program; determine what effect the program had on customers’ average weekly basket amount; and compare the average number of trips per week to NGVC stores (before and after the program was activated) to the grocery industry’s standard.-Conducted competitive analysis on store locations, holiday hours, produce price comparisons, and proximity to existing stores to help inform financial/executive decisions.-Updated insurance information for the stores by compiling leases and contacting property managers, to keep records up to date.Database and Spreadsheet Maintenance and Development-Created database in Microsoft Access for reports and other objects in company's SAP Business Objects library.-Updated financial and operational data for CFO investor relations roadshows.-Reformatted financial reports with SAP Business Objects to condense, organize and simplify complex documents.-Updated insurance information for the stores by compiling lease information from property managers.
