Software EngineerValuecentric May 2010 - May 2012Took initiative within a team project to design and implement a new reporting engine for the new Customer Usage Metrics reports. These reports were required to facilitate the current and future needs of internal analysis and marketing usage. The engine utilized Coldfusion components to implement object oriented design patterns to make clean and safe code, reduce maintenance workloads and maximize future feature additions and code flexibility. Utilized the factory pattern, encapsulation and polymorphism to enable entirely new metrics to be created with no change to any other metric or the engine itself.Assisted implementation of data retrieval for the Customer Usage Metrics from a Oracle 10g database, and implemented results caching to accelerate repeated retrieval of data and enhance the end users productivity.Implemented many improvements to the Interactive Order Management system, including both new features for customers and back-end code changes which improved development productivity.Improved stability, performance and future maintenance of the web based reporting feature of the ValueCentric application. Major improvements include refactoring key functionality from top level components into more tightly cohesive report specific components, which in turn decoupled the top level report builders and viewers from the reports themselves enhancing flexibility of new features.
