About Ian Fenton
Between 2012 and 2023 I led a team of film and moving image professionals at Tyneside Cinema dedicated to bringing about social change for young people in the North of England through the magical medium of film. In previous incarnations I have been the Maker of Stuff, including feature film White Settlers, the multi-award winning alternate reality game Time Machine, a baker's dozen of short films (some award-winning, some liked only by my mum), 25 hours of prime time television drama (including a BAFTA nominated episode of the children's television classic Byker Grove), and before I grew up to have a proper job in the film industry I was the lead singer and guitarist in the greatest unsigned band in Langholm (population 2500), Scotland.
