Principal
CurrentI founded Logistics Sciences (LS) in 1991 as a niche provider developing and using logistics planning/optimization tools. Between 2001-2004, the firm's IP was used for a variety of design projects for various clients. Now I'm leading the revitalization of LS with new logistics services and products.Other than general management, my main role in LS is to ensure that it brings clients and partners all the advantages of its understanding of the logistics landscape, enhanced by concentrating solely and solidly in the industry.I direct the firm's key values, firstly: never to over-promise; to say only what’s possible. Many firms speak to this; only a few follow through. It may sound contrite but sticking to this principle avoids complications for everyone involved, not least LS.A related value I champion is to provide straight answers to client's questions. I promote simple ways to provide practical, implementable deliverables, It's also my role to guarantee an independent, innovative perspective..LS serves companies relying on good logistics: manufacturers, distributors, retailers, 3PL and other providers, software companies, and consultants. To do this, part of my role is responsibility for a core set of methodologies and supporting tools, developed to be quickly adaptable for various tasks and client needs. In addition to other offerings, my job involves managing the development and delivery of these unique, proprietary products and services:• 3PL Provider selection• Better outsourcing deals for both parties, build confidence in the numbers, reach agreement more quickly, and subsequently provide help to keep targets on-track, avoid the risks or high cost of disagreement• A suite of services and products for selection of software and for the provision of Logistics Sciences and partner technologyI am also responsible for strategic relationships with our key partners - software or consulting.
