Source, model, and deploy data as a PostgreSQL database with models defined and updated via SQLAlchemy.• Implement a data quality testing framework (Great Expectations) on top of data pipelines that ingest third-party data.• Fulfill data requests from executive leadership, sales, marketing, and operations. Product development and outreach strategy for a mapping and surveying software company. Helped guide efforts to put every parcel in the United States online and available for crowdsourced surveying with mobile and desktop tools. Data generated using LOVELAND products has been used to inform tax foreclosure policy in Detroit.

Performed primary and secondary research on the coconut water supply chain and potential material applications for coconut fiber, a by-product of coconut water production. Evaluated the technical, operational, and market feasibility for potential products utilizing the coconut fiber waste stream from Southeast Asian suppliers. Created a comprehensive business plan for developing a sustainable, value-added product from coconut fiber.

Member of the Built Environment team, working specifically on the RetroFit Initiative, a campaign to facilitate wider adoption of deep energy retrofits in commercial buildings. Managed two projects, involving 5-7 team members, during the internship: 1) Developed a partnership strategy for the Initiative, outlining which stakeholders in the building energy efficiency space were high-priority partners (e.g. large portfolio owners, ESCOs). Potential partners were evaluated on a variety of criteria designed to measure their ability to influence greater implementation of deep energy retrofits. Methods for engaging these partners were proposed, according to a 1-year timeline with target outcomes. Deliverables included a strategy document and PowerPoint deck presented to internal decision-makers. 2) Researched existing literature on the benefits of deep energy retrofits that are additional to energy cost savings, like improved occupant health and productivity. Collaborated with numerous experts in the fields of real estate finance and sustainability throughout the project. Developed a framework for comparing these additional values and evaluating their financial benefit, helping to build a stronger case for energy retrofits. Integrated concept of 'values beyond energy cost savings' into RetroFit Depot Guides for building stakeholders. Throughout the internship, explored solutions to diverse aspects of building energy efficiency, from HVAC and plug loads to owner/tenant split incentives.

Worked with an interdisciplinary practice group called the Center for Connective Architecture. Projects ranged from small hotel developments to high-density, mixed-use urban infill to downtown master planning. Clients included real estate developers, other private land owners, local and regional governments. Duties included, but were not limited to: conceptual design; technical and illustrative site planning; land use and transportation planning; zoning, general/specific plan compliance; authoring design guidelines; 3D massing studies; site evaluation; facilitation of public meetings/workshops; participation in design charrettes; interfacing with clients, other project stakeholders, and internal team (project management); graphic design and marketing. Worked on international hospitality projects and made site visits to Dubai and Oman.
