About Beckye Frey

I am currently the Principal Planner in the City of Redmond’s Long Range Planning Team. I began my career more than 25 years ago with the King County DOT before working for other local and county government agencies in Washington, Arizona, and Texas (in rural and urban settings). I have led Comprehensive Plan updates for the City of Frisco (Texas) and Island County (Washington) and am currently leading the transit-oriented development planning, environmental review, code updates, and community engagement for the Redmond 2050 comprehensive plan update. I have extensive plan and regulation development, community engagement, environmental planning, regional planning, demographics, graphic design, and data analysis experience. My passion lies in helping communities address the needs of those that have traditionally been left out of the planning process, with particular focus on empowering community members with disabilities and finding ways to improve equity in the built environment.
