Faculty Association Ibn Battuta is the Association of the Faculty of Spatial Sciences at the University of Groningen. Here, 1300 students study planning or geography. At the Faculty of Spatial Sciences, students can follow the following masters: Environmental and Infrastructure Planning, Real Estate, Economic Geography, Society, Sustainability and Planning, Population Studies and a Spatial Sciences (research). The Association is named after an Arabic explorer from the 14th century. For its members 1100, it organises various career related, social and scientific activities. These vary from the career day, company visits, workshop, lectures, drinks, to (foreign) excursions. The activities are organizes by the Board and various committees in which members are active. In order to join upcoming activities, you have to become a member.Faculty Association Ibn Battuta has a coffee-room where students can drop by after lectures. The room is located in the Interim building (Duisenberg Building on Zernike Campus, Study Association wing, room 27 on the ground floor).
