I am a sustainable finance expert with more than 15 years of hands-on financial industry experience. I conduct research and lecture in sustainable finance and develop new sustainability transformation models as a consultant, focusing on implementing global and European sustainability reporting and disclosure standards with digital technologies.I worked at a financial regulatory and supervisory agency, the Capital Markets Board of Turkey (CMB), for about 17 years. My professional roles at the CMB provided me with a strong track record of working directly with numerous financial service providers, listed companies, rating agencies, and audit firms nationally and internationally. In February 2019, I joined the ZWIRN-Research Center (in German “Zentrum für wissenschaftliches, interdisziplinäres Risikomanagement und Nachhaltigkeit” - Center for Scientific and Interdisciplinary Risk Management and Sustainability) at the Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences in Germany. As a member of the ZWIRN, I regularly conduct research on sustainable finance topics, focusing on the EU’s sustainable finance policies. One of my studies, published by the ZWIRN as a working paper, introduces a new sustainability transformation model for business organizations and financial institutions in light of European and German sustainable finance regulations. In February 2022, one of my book projects, Essential Concepts of Sustainable Finance: An A-Z Guide, was approved by the Routledge Editorial Board. This book, which will be published in both e-book and printed forms, is expected to support enterprises in their sustainability transformation efforts. In addition to my research activities, I teach a graduate-level sustainable finance course, Economic Thinking and Sustainable Finance, at the university. Moreover, I actively work on global and European sustainability standards, including but not limited to GRI SRS, TCFD, and EU Taxonomy.My professional goal is to bring together two megatrends, sustainability and digitalization, to reach an ideal world, as expressed by the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.
