Recycling RobotDriven by a belief in shaping a better future and the power of technology to achieve sustainable development goals, I co-created the first recycling robot with engineer Shaima Hassan in 2015 and registered the patent.While this endeavor lay well outside the scope of my usual work, it proved to be a pivotal moment in my professional journey, boosting my confidence in my ability to learn and grow.My role involved designing the robot's entire mechanical mechanism and manufacturing over 7 prototypes to develop, assemble, and test the product.The process involved extensive research, including consulting with more than 30 engineering consultants and studying books, theses, and scientific research related to the field.I also developed a comprehensive project management plan, conducted market research, and engaged with potential customers, including hotels, clubs, schools, merchants, and industrial owners focused on recycling and waste collection.The project gained recognition from government ministries, leading to discussions and endorsements from key figures such as the Minister of Environment and the Minister of Urban Development.Our efforts culminated in the creation of a fully integrated system capable of addressing the problem at its source using the best and most advanced technological methods.The project's success was further validated when we won the Bell Labs and Nokia competition for the fifth generation of industrial and machine communication in 2019.This experience has been a testament to the power of perseverance, collaboration, and a deep commitment to making a positive impact on the world.Looking ahead, I am excited to continue exploring innovative solutions and leveraging technology to drive positive change and sustainable development.
