Scope: Egypt, UAE, Morocco, East Africa, and the Netherlands.(+140 tax obligations per year & +5 types of tax)(8 Audited financial statements per year)Statutory Responsibilities:Assisting and advising the business teams in the mergers and acquisitions process by covering a wide range of areas related to tax operations, legal and financial matters.Identifying and accurately mapping accounts for any adjustments to the applied standards on the financial ERPs that necessary to comply with local statutory accounting requirements across all entities.Ensures complete reconciliations of local GAAP financials with the applicable standards on the financial ERPs.Collaborates effectively with other functions including Finance, Controllers, Supply, Procurement, etc to make sure that the external auditors have the full/clear vision about the business activities and updates.Managing the relationship with the local external auditor including appointment/re-appointment of statutory auditors, negotiation of statutory audit fees and execution of engagement letters well in advance of commencement of audit.Filing of audited financial statements (and associated documentation) with local authorities (whether electronic, physical or both).TAX ResponsibilitiesResponsible for implementation, standardization of tax processes through the different businesses of group that is complaining with the local law of direct/indirect taxes.Managing tax audits, tax compliance monthly operations, tax accounts reconciliations, and ensuring communicating with the business teams about the tax exposures/opportunities and assisting in tax provision.

Scope: Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, Lebanon, Cyprus, Malta, Morocco.(+300 tax obligations per year & +7 types of tax across MEA)(7 Audited financial statements across MEA)STAT & TAX Responsibilities:- Tax Procedures: Develop, implement, manage, and enhance local tax policy, standard operational procedures, process, and systems used for tax returns preparation and reporting and monitoring of related compliance.- Tax Compliance & Reporting: Ensure Business Units prepare accurate tax computations in a timely manner to comply with statutory reporting (including corporate income tax, VAT, Customs duties, and other similar taxes). Ensure Business Units maintain all required documentation in support of tax computations and submissions related to tax and transfer pricing matters.- Global Tax Controversy/Tax Audits Reporting: Ensure Global Tax Teams are informed of any notice for tax assessment or audit. Ensure coordination between Business unit, Global tax teams and tax consultant (if any) (local and US) prior to engaging with Tax Authorities on tax assessments or audits. Lead and manage responses to queries from local tax authorities in relation to tax audits.- Introduction of New Taxes/Acts: Work with business units in assessing their preparedness for embracing new taxes. Advise on impact to business on introduction of new taxes or any new act that may affect the business daily operations. Assist businesses with implementation and compliance of these new taxes in the ERPs.- Responsible to ensure all statutory regulatory filings are completed timely, efficiently and in compliance with the country regulatory requirements. This includes branches, legal entities, and statutory consolidations.

Responsible for the preparation of the Transactional Tax filings (VAT/WHT) among Sub-Sahara South Africa "SSA" region and complete required tax reporting and filing with local authority in a timely manner.

Responsible for managing tax audits & compliance for all taxes (corporate income tax, payroll tax, stamp duty tax, VAT, and property tax) for Egyptian legal entities.Advisory for specialty areas of tax includes transactional tax, tax planning and external tax audits.Assist in the insurance policies renewals for the assigned line of business and get best offers for them.
