We worked on a project which aims to synthesize polymeric nanospheres that release bioactive agents that stimulate bone cells and use them on the surface of Ti implants. The project covers the production of chitosan nanospheres containing the osteoconductive molecule Vitamin D (VD), determination of the in vitro release profiles of free nanospheres, entrapment of the nanospheres to Ti surfaces, determination of the VD release profiles of the surfaces, cell culture studies and ossification determination.
