• Maintain, enhance, and administer the integrated library system (ILS); keep track of server updates; troubleshoot issues; maintain the loan rules, staff permissions, and other key settings; implement new features; maintain the online public access catalog; export bibliographic records to the discovery service nightly and quarterly.• Serve as the primary contact with the ILS vendor and open support tickets as issues arise.• Work with Tri-institutional partners on acquiring and loading patron data• Serve as point-person for ILS outages and disruptions of services for all library staff; collaborate with stakeholders (IT and Web Services, vendors, etc.) to resolve problems promptly• Track all system upgrades and communicate with colleagues about new features• Work collaboratively to support library departments by evaluating and testing new software/ILS features and gathering feedback from stakeholders as part of the process.• Train staff on relevant modules of the ILS, including upgrades and new products.• Collaborate broadly with colleagues to ensure that library materials are readily discoverable and accessible• Promote interoperability of the ILS and other discovery and access tools including, the link resolver/knowledge base (360 Services), the discovery system (Summon), off-campus authentication (EZproxy), Interlibrary loan (Illiad), and self-checkout machines (Bibliotheca)• Enhance integration between the ILS and Prospector, and work with staff at the Alliance of Research Libraries to troubleshoot any Prospector integration issues• Retrieve usage data from the ILS• Maintain detailed digital documentation of the ILS settings, configurations, and regular processes• Participates in Library and campus-wide committees and faculty governance.• Maintains membership in the ILS User Group and attends regional and national meetings and training• Keep up with trends in library discovery and access and the development of library systems

Contribute to the development and implementation of the Intelligent Learning Systems Department strategy in alignment with Education Technologies’ strategy and HCT’s system-wide strategy.Support with the development and implementation of library services policies, procedures and processes and monitor compliance of subordinates.Plan, develop, and deliver high quality library services that are accessible to all students, faculty, and staff.Oversee and supervise that instruction in information literacy is available to students, faculty and staff in formats suitable to class, group, operational, or individual needs.Establish a process of ongoing review, assessment and improvement of library programs, resources andservices that will evolve along with student needs and expectations.Oversee the development, maintenance, and administration of the Integrated Library System, databases, online resources, services, portal, and website.Develop plans for the delivery of library services across campuses, and coordinate with the EducationTechnology and Professional Development (functions responsible for education technologies) functions to successfully implement and deliver services.Provide leadership and vision in the development and implementation of initiatives that provide maximumdiscovery, access and use of the library collection through continuous process improvement.Provide professional development support and perform periodic performance reviews for direct subordinates based on HCT's Performance Management System and counsel them on improving their performance

Develop, maintain, and administer the Library Service Platforms (Alma, Primo VE) and website in collaboration with campus libraries.Perform Library Service Platforms (Alma, Primo VE) configuration changes and related technical administration tasks such as managing releases, version upgrades, system patches, monitoring system performance, testing, documenting, and implementing software changes.In coordination with Procurement and Contracts, handle the acquisition of resources for the library collection; this includes licensing, placing orders, and vendor relations.Develop and maintain an up-to-date, accurate, and comprehensive library resources database.Periodically create, analyze and prepare reports on systems activities.Support in developing and implementing library discovery and reporting tools that enable effective searching, retrieval, and delivery of library resources.Participate in identifying, evaluating, and recommending system improvements and processes.Provide functional support for all activities related to the Library Service Platforms (Alma, Primo VE).Support in the development of library collections through a thorough understanding of curricular and research needs by coordinating with different campuses.Based on identified needs, support in identifying, locating, and selecting items to add to HCT's library collection; coordinate with Senior Officer - Library Technical Services to acquire selected items.Handle cataloging and metadata creation to allow users to search for material through online catalog searches; coordinate with Senior Officer - Library Technical Services and Officer - Library Technical Services to maintain library resource records on the Integrated Library System.Monitor standardization and consistency in cataloging and assist in resolving complex cataloging problems.Responsible for creation of and updating relevant material in the LTS user manual

Deployment of server/client hardware and software. • Maintain proper documentation of work done at customer site.

• Performs a variety of administrative and supervisory work and complex clerical work in planning, organizing and implementing the programs and services of the library management system.• Works under the broad policy guidance and direction of the Human Resources Director.• Exercises administrative direction over all library staff, including regular, temporary and part-time and full-time, or seasonal personnel either directly or through subordinate supervisors.• Manages and supervises library operations to achieve goals within available resources; plans and organizes workloads and staff assignments; trains, motivates and evaluates assigned staff; reviews progress and directs changes as needed.• Provides leadership and direction in the development of short and long range library plans; gathers, interprets, and prepares data for studies, reports and recommendations; coordinates department activities with other departments and agencies as needed.• Provides professional advice on library issues to supervisors and Library Board; makes presentations to supervisors, boards, commissions, civic groups and the general public.• Communicates official plans, policies and procedures to staff.
