As the Professional Development Officer of the Virginia Tech Chapter of AIChE, I was responsible for:- Developing plans for promoting the club, discussing progress and attending board meetings- Organizing resume review sessions prior to career fairs- Writing monthly newsletters describing the progress of our club and promoting the organization- Start fun weekly social events during stressful times for students

- Assisted with the implementation of the new 800xA ABB DCS system- Created 50+ new graphics using PI Vision- Lead the installation of 7 new pumps and PLC Controllers for the Fibers area- Assisted in troubleshooting Process Control issues during mill shutdowns in the Fluff area

- Worked on a project involving modeling Distillation Columns in Aspen for Polymers- Scaled Condensers using HTRI for Polymers- Tested out new process upgrades for Plasticizers using Aspen, found a result that would save ~$3M/year- Contributed to the creation of a tool to help calculate intermolecular force calculations using Python and C++

- Reworked PI Asset Framework for the Ketones area - Conducted an experiment to modify the operating range of a tank in order to improve efficiency- Wrote a full-fledged technical report on my findings- Created a Python Script to help map out potential career destinations for engineers in my division

- Conducted a cradle-to-gate ISO compliant Life-Cycle Assessment on two high priority Eastman Products - Wrote two full-fledged technical reports on each Life-Cycle Assessment- Interacted with engineers and product managers abroad to gather information and display results- Assisted with LCA Automation project, helped with man-made models and the algorithm

Worked in the Zhu lab in which I was involved in synthesizing electron catalysis reactions involving copper nanocubes. I also gave presentations demonstrating my results from my research. I lastly read and reviewed publications from the lab and gave feedback.
