Teaching a Lab work about the design of integrated RF circuits for Master 2 studentsThe goal of this lab-work is to deliver a good understanding of:- Analog RF integrated circuit design,- Analog Signal Processing in RF, Basic concepts in RF design.- RF Front End Architectures for integration.- Technology and modeling of integrated devices for RF.- Design principles of basic RF blocks (LNA, Mixers, VCO, Power Amplifiers).

The objective of this role is to supervise a group of students to master the complete design of an integrated system (digital, analog, or mixed digital/analog), from the writing of the detailed specifications to the prototype, including the architecture specification, the definition of the validation plan, the implementation and the verifications.

The main objective of this internship is to generate clocks signals given by the Self-Timed Ring Oscillator STRO for low-power receivers. After investigating different architectures, STRO was chosen for its ability in providing multiphase clocks and frequency tuning, thanks to the current starving technique.In this framework, a 5-stage STRO has been designed and implemented in FD-SOI 28nmtechnology, the aim is to generate five signals in the evenly spaced mode and a tunableoscillation frequency ranging from 300 MHz up to 2.4 GHz.
