As a seasoned educator and communications expert, I’m deeply committed to enhancing Alabama's higher education landscape. My journey began in 2008 as a tutor at a community college, and since then, I've honed a diverse set of skills that have strengthened my ability to support teaching and learning. Originally focused on Political Science with a goal of entering public office, I shifted gears to pursue dual degrees in Communication Studies while continuing my education at the graduate level. My research interests include gender and political communication, organizational behavior, and improving recruitment and retention strategies for transfer students.In 2024, I founded Winning Wellness Consulting LLC, where I now serve as CEO. In this role, I apply data-driven strategies that significantly improve student outcomes. Prior to this, I was a Speech Instructor at Ingram State Technical College from 2016 to 2021, teaching over 100 students each semester across multiple correctional facilities. During this time, I worked to ensure all graduates received vital instruction in speech communication, reflecting my commitment to educational equity and access.My teaching career also includes time as an Adjunct Speech Instructor at Shelton State Community College from 2015 to 2016. While earning my graduate degree at the University of Alabama, I contributed to transfer recruitment and admissions efforts, co-hosting the university’s first Transfer Preview Day, which became an annual event due to its success.I hold a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Administration from the University of Alabama, a Master of Arts in Communication and Information Sciences, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and Political Science. In addition to a Continuing Education Certificate in Distance Education from the University of West Georgia, I am also a certified Personal Fitness Trainer. My strengths in data analysis, event planning, community outreach, and teaching highlight my passion for fostering leadership and communication in education.
