Ivan Carlo Villareal-Arrojado Basit is a Manila-based Chef, Graphic Designer, Photographer, Visual Artist, Creative Writer, and Performance Artist.He completed a certificate in Multimedia Arts at the First Academy of Computer Arts, before taking up Journalism at the Manila Times School of Journalism. He then moved to Advertising and then to Animation Arts at the Information and Communications Technology Academy or iAcademy in Makati.Freelance, Ice has over 18 years of experience (2004-present), and has designed or consulted for various advertising campaigns, television and film productions, regional events, and international business and corporate websites.He has also held lectures in Documentary Filmmaking and Basic Photography at the La Consolacion College in Manila, workshops in Spoken Word and Creative Writing at the Makati High School, and workshops on Adobe Flash for Web and Animation at My Little Art Place gallery in San Juan. His paintings under JIV Manila and independent photographic works have been displayed at the Gallerie Astra in Makati, the PhilamLife Theater in Manila, The Rockwell Club in Makati, Mag:net Café and Gallery at The Fort, Shotlist Gallery in QC, Art19b in Cubao Expo, and Pineapple Lab in Makati.From 2009-2012, Ice was Senior Art Director for TheDesignPeople, Inc., a web design and marketing firm based in L.A. with operations in Ortigas, Pasig.In mid 2012, he joined Suspended Animation Media as Art Director and Production Manager, and as Brand Development Consultant for the studio's Marketing projects.In 2014, Ice boarded the pioneer team of ImFree, Inc. as Design Director, leading the development of Visual Identity and Brand Communications, Industrial Design for Tech, and aiding in UI and UX Design.He completed Professional Culinary Arts studies at the Magsaysay Institute of Hospitality and Culinary Arts (MIHCA) in June of 2018 and undertook Culinary Management Apprenticeship at the Solaire Resort and Casino.In 2019, he joined the restaurant chain Chubs Chasers Steaks & Ribs as R&D Chef and Marketing Consultant, while taking on various food consultancy projects with MyChef Philippines —an enterprise platform for freelance chefs.Today, Ice is the driector his own consulting group consisting of two avenues: Progetto Creative Business Solutions which provides creative ad and marketing services, and Tōque Hospitality Management Solutions which provides in-company training for restaurants and boutique hotels.
