• Contracted through Healthcare Staffing Professionals, Inc. to work at the Department of Public Health (DPH) as a Health Program Analyst II for the Center for Health Equity.• Since July 2023, serve as the Translations Team Supervisor for the Language Justice Unit, overseeing 14-15 staff members (eleven people that work as translators, two people serving as Health Program Analyst I’s, one Administrative Assistant I, and one intern). • Research and establish workflows for various processes, as well as determine job responsibilities and workload for distinct staff members. Monitor program activities to ensure compliance with workflows. Enhance operational efficiency and efficacy through development and implementation of operational improvements.• Evaluate and construct recommendations for the solution of problems related to organization, personnel, information services and other resources. • Conducts research and analysis on best practices and technical aspects related to language access services. Presents recommendations to management for potential enhancements in these services.• Advancing staff’s professional development by searching for external trainings and co-creating internal trainings with other subject matter experts. For instance, currently co-creating a training with a subject matter expert on how to apply plain language principles for translated documents.

• Contracted through Healthcare Staffing Professionals, Inc. to work at the Department of Public Health (DPH) as a Health Program Analyst I for the Domestic Violence Council (DVC). The Domestic Violence Council provides leadership in the creation and support of a county-wide, survivor-centered approach to preventing and intervening in intimate partner violence.• Coordinated the six committees of the Domestic Violence Council, as well as the monthly General Meetings. These meetings were open to the public, and were attended by County officials, service providers, domestic violence survivors and other members of the public. Through this administration and other project management activities, provided coalition building, as well as facilitated advocacy and leadership for the domestic violence field.• Served as a subject matter expert and consultant internally (within the Domestic Violence Council and the Department of Public Health) and externally on issues related to domestic violence, child abuse, the child welfare system, and hospital-based interventions against violence, among other topics. Led trainings for various County and community-based organizations.• Coordinated collaborative efforts among County and community-based groups to meet the needs of domestic violence survivors, those at risk of experiencing victimization of intimate partner violence, as well as agencies that serve these groups. • Collaborated with community and county partners to discuss, influence, and/or work toward the implementation of legislative and procedural policies.• Served as the Domestic Violence Council’s point of contact to other DPH programs, county agencies, community partners, and LA County residents by responding to inquiries for assistance, information, linkages, and other support via the DVC’s organizational email and department phone number. Provided such support in English and in Spanish.

Greater Los Angeles Area

• Provided outpatient individual and family therapy to a caseload of approximately 25 clients, age three to twenty-one. Conducted intake assessments, diagnostic formulations, and treatment plans for clients. Completed documentation in Electronic Medical Record. • Delivered and scored various outcome measures before, during and after delivery of services. Created and maintained data dashboards to track and analyze mental health data. Derived data-driven insights to evaluate progress and efficacy of interventions. • Achieved certification in evidenced based practices. Achieved certification in MAP (Managing and Adapting Practices) and TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). Currently receiving training necessary to become certified in IPT (Interpersonal Therapy) and Seeking Safety. • Authored two articles regarding the impact of Covid-19 on domestic violence survivors and LGBTQ+ youth, and ways to support these two groups. Completed literature and news review and research on supportive services to write such articles.• For two and a half years, provided intensive family and individual therapy two times per week, for three Family Service Partnership clients. Provided comprehensive case management to another three Family Service Partnership Program clients.

• Provided advocacy services appropriate to clients’ needs to a caseload of approximately 30 patients who were survivors of interpersonal violence (domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, etc.). Such services included crisis intervention, risk assessment, safety planning, individual counseling, and case management. • Delivered health education to clients regarding various forms of interpersonal violence and engaged patients in best practice interventions related to their needs. • Initiated, developed and led presentation regarding basic concepts around gender identity to advance program’s goal of executing trauma-informed and culturally humble services. Summarized information from various sources (advocacy groups, non-profits, etc.) to exhibit data in a clear and comprehensive manner. Please message for copy of presentation. • Selected to participate in Brigham and Women’s Hospital Schwartz Rounds (Schwartz Rounds is a nationally recognized program in which a panel of healthcare workers discuss engagement in compassionate care for a particular case). In this panel, healthcare workers discussed the delivery of interdisciplinary care to a transgender woman of color who was a survivor of human trafficking and other forms of violence. • Provided consultation and technical assistance to health care providers at Brigham and Women's Hospital on all issues related to interpersonal violence. • Covered on-call service one to two times a week. On-call service entails serving as the first responder for interpersonal violence referrals from the Brigham and Women's Hospital, as well as self-referrals from community members. • Assessed the mental health, physical health and concrete services needs of about 15 children and their families per week, as referred by pediatricians. Developed care coordination plans for children with special physical or developmental health care needs. • Proposed, created, and delivered a presentation to the Behavioral Health Department regarding youth, social media, and self-inflicted violence. Included evidenced-based screening questions to assess child’s engagement in self-harm and social media use, as well as to evaluate the potential relationship between these two factors. Please message for copy of presentation. • Conducted pediatric mental health screenings for youth ages 3-21 who sought individual and family therapy. Diagnosed any mental health conditions using DSM-5 and assessed level of care needed using Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths Assessment. • Engaged with families in strengths-based, collaborative relationships in order to provide health education, resources, and referrals to local supports. • Worked conjointly with other mental health clinicians and pediatricians in weekly Child and Family Mental Health Meetings, as well as monthly Pediatric Team Meetings, to address holistic well-being of families.

Greater Los Angeles Area

• Mentored and tutored 7th grade students at Markham Middle School in Watts, South Los Angeles.• Collaborated with Behavior Counselors, Attendance Counselors, Gang Intervention Program Counselors and students' family members (in English and Spanish) to improve student's quality of life, behavior, and academic performance. • Created and executed extra-curricular behavior programming for four students. All students met City Year impact goals by improving at least one point in three or more character traits, as outlined using KIPPs character growth assessment. • Initiated and directed a High School Fair. Representatives from eight local magnet, charter and private high schools were present, and informational materials from three other schools were distributed. Around 80 parents and students attended.

• Cultivated relationships with non-profits and college professors in order to collaborate on the creation and implementation of service projects. Facilitated service projects in five classes that ranged across departments. Through these service projects undergraduate students engaged in mutually beneficial work with community members while gaining understanding of the course material in an applied manner.• In September 2012, I was promoted to Education in Action Co-Coordinator. For this role, I oversaw tasks of facilitators and interns, ensured supporting staff met deadlines, submitted necessary paperwork, and maintained positive relationships with non-profit representatives and college community members.

• During the 10-week internship program, contacted over 250 potential donors to fundraise for the Center’s annual Gala and other initiatives. Catalogued contact information of donors and other sponsors. • Assisted outside organizations in holding benefits for the Center by ensuring that the fundraising actions were in alignment with the Center’s mission, and by distributing promotional materials when needed. • All donations acquired through these endeavors were used to construct and furnish a new housing unit for homeless women with comorbid diagnoses.

• Scoured online journal databases to conduct literature reviews and contextualize previous research regarding children’s understanding of evolution and factors that affect this comprehension. • Conducted and transcribed interviews between parents and children (ages seven to twelve) regarding animal behavior and evolution using both an interactive museum display and children’s books. Using qualitative analysis skills, coded interactions between parents and children and their understanding of evolution. • Analyzed this cross-sectional data using ANOVA to measure community members’ understanding of evolution and how this was affected by engagement in activities, as well as the gender of parents and children. This information was later used for the research paper.
