About I-Chien Jan

As a serial entrepreneur and early stage investor near 20 years, I enjoy the challenge of venture creation and the rewards being associated. I adopted multidisciplinary insights through working in top venture funds and venture-backed startups for 6 years during my early career. By co-founding the first startup accelerator in Asia (AppWorks) and being a general partner for 6 years, I learned the trade secrets of ecosystem building and venture business.After leaving AppWorks with a deep knowledge and network of mobile internet and smart things, I began my journey back to healthcare fields by connecting government, industrial leaders with startup founders and conducting two accelerating programs for healthcare startups across the Pacific Ocean within three years.By connecting and leveraging Taiwan's unique strengths in manufacturing, healthcare system and talents for growth, I helped and invested startups in the US through my angel group "Taiwan Global Angels" and being a Mentor both in Berkeley SkyDeck and 500 Global. Taiwan Global Angels (TGA) is a global network of seasoned angel investors primarily based in the US and Taiwan. TGA focuses on the early-stage investment in industrial automation and digital transformation with deep tech and artificial intelligence angles, primarily in the Bay area. We've invested in 8 startups and 2 venture funds since 2022 with the AUM as 15M USD.Outside of work, I am also an amateur triathlete and obtained my Personal Trainer and Running Instructor license in 2017. I've done a bike tour de Taiwan (600 miles in a week) and two 70.3 Ironman races.
