Hello, and welcome to my LinkedIn profile!In 1992 I graduated from the University of Manitoba with an Advanced BA in Economic Geography and a minor in Urban Studies. In fact, I also had undeclared minors in several other subject areas, including Political Science, Economics, Interdisciplinary Studies & Futurology which for some reason is actually in the History Department. This thirst for learning has been my lifelong passion.All to often a BA Degree is lamented as a degree with no real applicable value to a business, I would like to strongly disagree. My undergraduate education was invaluable in a career that has been defined by undefined and unstructured job roles. A significant portion of my career has been in the area of special projects that were outside of traditional department hierarchy’s, and at locations frequently remote from my team or my direct management.I am proud to say that I have found that I can be successful at anything. And although I learn from my successes, I have learned far more from my failures, and by that count, I should now be a genius! Yes, I too was one of those BA grads without a career plan. I have become a professional generalist with multiple successful careers, a high level of authority & my career has covered multiple industries.In 2003 I entered the Simon Fraser University GDBA Program, it is approximately the first year of their MBA program offered online. As an MBA type, I am a highly analytical person, I am able to synthesize empirical and subjective data to draw meaningful conclusions. My lifelong learning has extended my education in many directions. I am currently seeking opportunities in Social Media Management, Teaching Online, something flexible and not location dependent.I have worked in all business functional departments: Accounting & Finance, Marketing, Information Technology, Human Resources, Compensation/Payroll, Logistics, & Administration.
