Dean Armstrong has over 30 years professional engineering experience designing architecturally challenging international building projects. Dean has significant experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams on large projects with complex stakeholder requirements, under different procurement options, in different parts of the globe.Over the last twenty years Dean's project experience working out of New Zealand & Australia includes health projects, laboratory research projects, high rise commercial and residential buildings, international sporting facilities, primary & tertiary education and rail projects. Dean has a comprehensive understanding of major project considerations, procurement options, the importance of reverse briefing and staged design process, experience in value management & risk assessment reviews, designing to budget and the need to address safe design & constructability issues. He is able to work collaboratively with stakeholders, cost estimators, architects, health planners, services engineers and builders to develop the most appropriate and cost effective solutions for clients. This experience is combined with his ability to provide client focussed leadership to ensure his teams address project risks and deliver projects to a high standard, on time and on budget. He develops, collaborates and maintains excellent technical relationships to ensure knowledge is shared to continually improve standards and to bring innovation to his projects.
