Qualia developed advanced AI technology in the fields of natural language processing and machine learning.Qualia has worked with over 1000 clients, brands and agencies in communications, advertising, PR, strategy, retail, IT, financial services, media, telecoms, broadcasting, government, construction, energy and sport.Qualia built and operated a powerful media analytics platform that analyzed millions of online sources from around the world and produced rich insights by applying NLP and ML technology. Our clients had access to the platform and associated services such as reporting and alerting.Qualia's technology included: plug-and-play crawlers, NLP tools, chatbots, speech and video recognition engines, social media analytics engines, cross-media topic detection tools and a rich multimedia archive. Graduate course: NLP - information retrieval.In these courses, I assisted Professor George Carayannis, who was my teacher, a world-renowned DSP researcher and a founding member of the Greek scientific community in natural language processing. The earlier course was also part of my PhD, which I never finished because I moved from academia to solving real-world problems with technology.

Founding member of the R&D Natural Language Applications team at ILSP. The team was ​created after the end of​ the​ Eurotra​ project​, an innovative machine translation project established and funded by the European Commission until 1992.Research on speech and language understanding with​​ the focus on information extraction, information retrieval, machine translation and machine learning.We have participated in many EU and national cutting edge research projects and have won more than 6 million euros in research and development grants.Founding member of the team that designed and developed the Traid Translation Memory Package that included the following components: translation memory, aligner (dynamic programming), term memory (1996 – 2002).Selected projects and publications in the corresponding sections below.

Research on efficient echo cancellation and noise reduction techniques with limited complexity, in order to process speech and audio signals for the mobile telephony and the digital call center. Development on specialized DSP platforms and chips, such as the TI TMS320 family. Design and development of pitch models for high quality synthetic speech.The research was a continuation of my Master's thesis and was supported by the EU project FREETEL (grant 6166).
