Design and project lead within the Product Development team. Working alongside design, engineering, software, and ecology teammates to solve a mixture of user experience and technical problems. A core part of this role involved moving from concept to design freeze - where a number of highly technical problems needed to be solved robustly and in consideration of the end user. This resulted in patents and design registrations being filed for the project, with quite novel solutions for both the technology and aesthetic being achieved. User interface design and usability testing was undertaken to ensure the design solutions were robust, as well as extensive technical testing of the internal mechanisms to ensure a long functional life of the product while still maintaining its class-A humane status.Alongside this a companion app was developed and I lead the design requirements to ensure it would deliver on the core user need for the new product, while maintaining and elevating the existing user bases experience. Both continual-development CAD and final tool-ready CAD models were developed and delivered to the toolmaking partners, with minimal changes required before achieving tooling sign-off.

Lead the development of exciting new products for the world of craft spirits. This involved market and user research, brand strategy, conceptualisation and presentation of market, user, brand, and business needs. I visited and helped vet overseas manufactures, sketched, modelled, prototyped, validated new product ideas, and collaborated with mechatronics and software developers, chemists, brewers, and engineers. I also instigated and lead an internal sustainability initiative for New Product Development, as well as built design capability within the New Product Development team.

Worked on high performance furniture. The role spanned the entire design process; conceptual development, model making, prototyping, Solidworks development, tooling review, user testing and trialing, standards testing.

My role involved producing designed 3d models and drawings for CNC output, CNC operation and the subsequent assembly of fabricated joinery, concept visualisations, casting and prop building, art installation, paint effects, and spray painting in a range of industry finishes.

Classes I tutored were Digital Fabrication, Modelling and Prototyping, and two core Industrial Design papers; one was innovating with food in a New Zealand context, and the other an introductory paper for first year students. I taught skills regarding: 3d modeling, CAD work, 3D printing, modelling materials and techniques, the design process, and identifying markets and user needs.

Freelance industrial design project which involved generating sketch concepts, clay developments, and ultimately a final CAD model to be printed and painted by the client for an overseas trade-show.
