Currently, I am leading the HR function and responsible in implementing strategic direction of the department and report directly to the COO. Everyday, I look forward to collaborating with my colleagues and various heads of business units to create an exceptional employee experience and uncover opportunities for improvement and create solutions for challenges. One of my recent projects involved challenging the status quo to re-think and re-define how work gets done. The rapid changes brought on by new technologies, globalization, and an increasingly skilled workforce presents opportunities to reimagine and modernize existing processes. For example, improved capabilities in HR technology such as Applicant Tracking Systems, analytics via PowerBi and online sources of talent like LinkedIn can be leveraged to create a more effective recruitment process. By utilizing new tools and adapting processes, we have been able to bring recruitment in-house and eliminate reliance on agency recruitment by 100%.

As Head of the Talent function, I led the company’s Talent Management team to build strong relationships with Enterprises ie SMEs, Start-ups, and Multi-National Corporations (MNCs). This includes developing and coordinating outreach strategies, networking events, and workshops to connect with over 200 companies. I am also accountable for leading talent acquisition strategy, counselling to our learners, and best practices across four pillars of the business including System Management, Software Engineering, Digital Business, and Business IT. I also actively contribute in an advisory capacity to plan, execute, and facilitate events and career seminars for our learners. Our track record includes successfully acquiring “Just In Time” skilled talent through recruitment network events. Being resourceful, manage and facilitate enterprise talent needs and leverage programs such as SkillsFuture Sg and Workforce Sg to source salary funding.

As a QA Manager, I had oversight of ensuring regulatory compliance and up-to-date licencing of the institution. Liaising with the Council for Private Education (CPE) and EduTrust, I ensured that required accreditation was obtained and trained staff to meet regulatory requirements. I demonstrated leadership and initiative through improvements to the Quality Management System, workplace safety, and auditing and recommending solutions where applicable.

I led a team of support staff to establish operational excellence and a seamless admissions experience for students by designing and implementing procedures and guidelines. By reporting bi-annually on performance, I was able to identify opportunities to improve the administration and implementation of the Student Management System. I also developed and maintained relationships with key business partners globally including in the UK, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Hong Kong.

Supporting the General Manager, I managed daily operations for an educational institution with over 2000 students including staff supervision and management of information in the Student Data Management System, logistics, course time tables for national and overseas centres, and supported lecturers’ administrative needs. I helped to generate operational and management reports that were used for strategic and long-term planning exercises and was accountable for all aspects of school administration for MOE, SQC, HSBC (Escrow), Casetrust, etc.Concurrently, I was responsible for marketing and promoting courses through a variety of channels including career fairs, seminars, marketing presentations, and personal consultations. I successfully trained and managed a team of Marketing and Customer Service staff and developed and executed promotional strategies that resulted in increase enrollment.
