I am an experienced senior manager, director, international dealmaker and negotiator with experience of successfully concluding deals in many countries, particularly in Western Europe and Japan. I am presently the Chief Operating Officer of Actual Analytics. We have developed a unique combination of hardware and software which uses AI techniques to automate laborious analysis work in medical and pharmaceutical research. I am responsible for the day to day operations of the company and am in the process of developing business processes to support our scale-up as we win significant business from global corporations.I am co-founder and Chairman of Advanced Downhole Petrophysics, a start-up taking a novel technology into the oil and gas market. In this role I have been responsible for setting strategy, overseeing the company's finances and for liaison with potential partners and investors. As part of my role I have undertaken further world-class training in leadership and entrepreneurship.In recent years I worked with university spin-out companies as they developed their commercialisation strategy and raised investment. I am also a Non Executive Director of two companies; the Pentlands Science Park, and Genomia Management Ltd. In these roles I apply independent external judgement to oversee issues such as strategy, performance, resources and standards of conduct. I have concluded many high-level licensing deals for the use of intellectual property, and also a range of strategic corporate alliances.I spent five years as Director of the University of Edinburgh's science park, a JV with Grosvenor, the major property group, leading on sales, marketing strategy, liaising with government and handling all media enquiries.I have worked with a number of technology companies to support them in developing strategy, raising finance and targeting new markets. I aim to bring to my role a combination of strategic vision and a hands on approach to driving projects forward to success.
