Idris has over 25 years of experience in the assurance and financial advisory services sector in the UK and Kuwait.In Kuwait he is the managing partner of Moore Stephens International Kuwait which provides assurance, business advisory and tax services to a variety of clients. Idris is a part of the MENA regional technical team and sits on the International Technical Committee of Moore Stephens Worldwide. He has advised clients on acquiring and disposing of businesses, liquidations, HR issues, drafting of business plans and business strategies, internal reorganizations, setting of KPI’s, business process reviews, structural analysis, assisting the setting of financial budgets as well as advising on inheritance issues and the development of succession plans.His strength is his ability to engender trust, to provide unequivocal business advice using his keen commercial acumen and strong technical skills, making him a much sought out member for any business team. He is a strong leader but at the same time has the capacity to be a proactive team player, he values a hard working environment with a strong work ethic and is not afraid to roll up his sleeves and be hands on when necessary. He has worked across a variety of businesses and industries in the UK and in Kuwait, including the highly regulated industries of pensions, charities and FSA regulated companies. His experience has mainly been with large owner managed family businesses, groups and listed companies.He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG in London and worked with Price Waterhouse Coopers for a number of years and then PKF in Manchester; he has over the years worked in Spain, Australia, Russia and Singapore and has experience of working with different nationalities under differing legal jurisdictions utilizing differing business practices. He has a deep understanding and knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and accounting including their theory and practical applications.
