Mirapulse is a Belgian FemTech start-up aiming to improve the lives of women suffering from severe period pain, particularly those with endometriosis. In response to the inadequacy of current treatments, Mirapulse is developing EVA, a medical device that uses targeted electrostimulation to block the nerves responsible for pain, providing relief to patients for whom traditional treatments are ineffective.

As an Investment Analyst Intern at Noshaq, I had the opportunity to work closely with the investment managers and assist them with their daily tasks. This included identifying new opportunities, conducting due diligence, drafting and presenting investment proposals to the investment committee, and participating in different other events and projects.While the emphasis of my internship was on MedTech projects, I also had the opportunity to contribute to other areas, including biotech projects. The objective of my internship was to gain a comprehensive understanding of the investment process at Noshaq.Lastly, building on my internship experience at Noshaq, I completed a capstone project for my Advanced Master in Biotech and Medtech Ventures. This capstone project consisted of the preparation of a report with the objective of providing a comprehensive description of the investment process within a Life Science VC fund. This report aims to provide valuable insights into the evaluation and investment decision-making process of projects in order to identify best practices for maximizing the success of early-stage Life Science entrepreneurs seeking funding. The results of this project will provide practical recommendations to entrepreneurs, making a significant contribution to the Life Science start-up community.

The TRIAXES+ project brings together a multidisciplinary team of four students to create a pre-industrial prototype accompanied by a business plan that responds to a problem. In our case, the chosen problem is dysmenorrhea. We created a prototype of a medical device to tackle acute menstruation pain.The methodology is particularly complex as the progress of one discipline depends on the others which requires genuine teamwork.
