Our new team is chartered with teaching shoppers how convenient voice shopping can be and we're hiring senior engineers and SDE-IIs.We're a new team, and we're starting several initiatives from scratch. Over the next year we'll build and test prototypes, tackle our first set of experiences, and make the technology and architectural decisions that will underpin a platform serving high transactions per second.We are a full stack team owning experiences and the services that support them. We deliver our experiences via Alexa, the Amazon app and amazon.com. We build the front end services in React, back end services using Java on AWS, and we spackle over the gaps with a splattering of Python and Jedi mind tricks as required.

Built the 8 person video acquisition team from scratch. The team was chartered with getting shoppers, sellers, and vendors to upload their videos to amazon.com. We launched our first consumer facing features within 3 months of the team being created, and delivered new customer features every few weeks.

The Office incubation team was a startup incubator within Microsoft where founders pitched startup ideas to VPs for funding. When funding was approved, founders operated with almost full autonomy to achieve their startup's goals.My startup explored making mobile experiences emotionally engaging• Secured VP level funding by developing value prop.• Validated customer need via user interviews, ad campaigns, landing pages, and concierge MVPs.• Iterated quickly by building low tech prototypes and gathering feedback publicly.• Transferred value prop to mature Microsoft products.

Built the performance team from scratch within Windows Azure.• Defined and made large improvements to various KPIs like tenant deployment and datacenter servicing• Built telemetry and automated reporting pipeline used by line engineers through engineering leadership.• Investigated, designed, and tracked multi team, cross stack optimizations.• Grew team from 1 to 6 engineers, interviewed most of parent team's 30 engineers.

Various roles during Azure's infancy.• Designed and implemented the authentication service which had 0 bugs during its 3 year life cycle.• Prototyped virtual machine and service deployment strategies.• Figured out and fixed complex issues in virtualization, networking, and service management.• Developed initial Azure deployment and monitoring scripts.
