I've found my home in the HVAC&R industry because of the direct ties to sustainability, human comfort and safety, and collaboration.Until recently, I called Cal Poly and San Luis Obispo my home. My tenure there unearthed my fascination with thermodynamics and fluid mechanics, and soon after I discovered the HVAC concentration and the ASHRAE club. During my senior year, I was able to take HVAC-specific technical electives like Refrigeration and Energy Modeling. I also competed in the ASHRAE System Selection competition for my senior project and our sustainable lab design won our team second place internationally. I will miss the Central Coast, but I have been able to take my BS in Mechanical Engineering and my experience to Frank M. Booth Inc., located in Granite Bay, about 30 minutes from where I grew up in El Dorado Hills.Perhaps an odd combination, but my other passion outside of engineering is riding BMX. The BMX community is stuffed full of kind young people who enjoy getting outside as much as I do. I have biking, in part, to thank for the development of my leadership skills; I served as BMX Coordinator at Woodward West in Tehachapi where I taught kids bike control, organized employees and schedules, and mitigated conflicts. These days, you can find me at bike night at the Folsom Skatepark (Wednesdays after 5:30 pm).Boy Scouting also taught me leadership, among other valuable life lessons like Emergency Preparedness and Personal Management. I am a proud Eagle Scout of Troop 700, in Rescue, CA. In my teens, I led the entire troop for a time as Senior Patrol Leader, backpacked across the New Mexico backcountry at Philmont Scout Ranch, and completed my Eagle Project of constructing horseshoe pits at the Rescue Community Center.If we have crossed paths before, be sure to reach out and say hello!
