Iesha Baldwin is Spelman College’s first Sustainability Coordinator, leading the Sustainable Spelman Office, the home of the college's campus-wide sustainability initiative. She is also the creator of the Dear Little Scientist picture book series, inspiring young readers to explore the world with curiosity, kindness, empathy, and imagination. These values guide her work at Spelman, where she brings together innovation, sustainability, and community to strengthen and modernize campus infrastructure.Prior to joining Spelman College, Iesha was the inaugural AI Manufacturing Fellow at Georgia Tech’s Manufacturing Institute and 2022-2023 Environmental Justice Fellow at the University of California, Davis. These experiences have further shaped her ability to drive positive environmental change and educate future leaders through innovation and technology.Iesha's commitment to sustainable development and education has earned her recognition as an Emerging Leader in Sustainability by Trellis Group (formerly Green Biz Group) in 2017, as well as a 30 Under 30 North American Environmental Educator award from the North American Association for Environmental Educators, the USDA Forest Service, and the Global Environmental Education Department. Most recently, she was honored with the International Green Mentor award from NYC Green Climate Schools for her role as a mentor for the next generation of sustainability leaders.Iesha’s expertise and passion have led her to speak at The National Wildlife Federation Environmental Justice Student Summit, Support + Feed and Billie Eilish's Overheated Climate Forum, The United Nations Association Leadership Summit, The RCE Global Symposium, Cornell University, University of California Davis, Spelman College, Georgia Institute of Technology, and more. Iesha is a proud graduate of Spelman College where she studied environmental science/studies.
