As the Academic Affairs Director for the Council of Commonwealth Student Governments (CCSG), I lead a dedicated committee of students representing Penn State’s 19 Commonwealth campuses in advocating for academic policies that enhance student learning experiences and promote equitable access to quality education. My role is multifaceted and includes policy research, student advocacy, and collaboration with university leaders to address academic concerns across campuses.Leadership & Collaboration:Partner with campus representatives, committee members, and university administrators to address academic policies impacting Commonwealth campuses, including Open Educational Resources (OER), the 19-credit surcharge, and pass/fail grading options.Facilitate monthly council meetings, including hosting guest speakers, fostering productive discussions, and driving actionable outcomes.Policy Research & Advocacy:Conduct research on critical academic issues such as textbook accessibility, grading policies, and advising systems to inform policy proposals and resolutions.Collaborate with Student Government Associations (SGAs) and university faculty to develop data-driven solutions for improving undergraduate education.Efforts to expand awareness and utilization of Open Educational Resources (OER) to reduce costs for students.Committee Coordination:Maintain consistent communication with committee liaisons and campus representatives to ensure alignment on initiatives and progress updates.Guide research projects across campuses, including gathering student feedback, conducting surveys, and analyzing data to support advocacy efforts.University Engagement:Serve as a representative on the Administrative Council on Undergraduate Education (ACUE), contributing to discussions on academic policies, course delivery, and program development.Engage with university officials, including Faculty Senate leaders, to advocate for academic equity and excellence.

- As a Co-associate, I have the opportunity to lead a group of interns with an Associate as the secondary author of our internship project. - Lead group in developing an abstract and research poster for at our virtual Symposiums. - Regularly attended executive-associate meetings, and effectively create and organize timelines and communicate details to fellow interns.
