About Iffat Khan
I am a development practitioner with over 10 years of extensive experience in project implementation and knowledge management in Bangladesh. I have worked in the fields of general and vocational education, waste management, and gender-equitable food security. With graduate and post-graduate degrees in Economics, I am well equipped with the tools of project designing and implementation, together with translating the goings-on into a written form – making me an excellent candidate for any implementation, knowledge management, and research-related positions. I consider workplace culture and environment drives productivity. I believe in empowering employees and coworkers for deriving the maximum level of output from them. I keep the well-being of my employees at the forefront of my people management activity. I am an organized, energetic, self-motivated, and independent young woman with a personal level urge to work for equality, social inclusion (especially for those with disabilities), mental health issues, and environmental protection. Since childhood, I have been extremely passionate about working for and with disadvantaged groups; economic, social, cultural, or physical – I have always felt the desire to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. One of my aim in life is to be able to work with the elderly generation for bringing them a decent and comfortable life. In my personal life, I am an avid traveler with the aim to touch down all of the seven continents in my lifetime (yes! Including Antarctica). So far, I have managed three. The position provided me with the privilege of teaching, mentoring younger students and assisting professors with assessment and research related work. I got to teach some parts of the courses through classroom sessions, but mostly through private sessions during office hours. The teaching or explaining process allowed me to understand the course contents more thoroughly. As I went deeper into the foundation of all economics courses, introductory micro and macroeconomics, for teaching - it helped me a lot with understanding the course contents of harder and more complex economics courses in the senior years. Gradually, I was given the responsibilities of higher level economics courses. Furthermore, I have assisted professors with research work, examination invigilation and grading of students that took me closer to the experience of being a teacher. Show less
