In October 2022, a new traversal team was created to give support to the rest of the teams working on the different vertical products. I’ve been part of this team since that. Depending on the company's needs I’m working as a DevOps Engineer and Software Engineer, using a vast of technologies such as Terraform, Terragrunt, Docker, Jenkins, Google Cloud, Go, and Shell Script.One of the tasks was to create the infrastructure for the new in-house data warehouse based on Dagster.

At this time, I joined to work in the infrastructure team.I'm working: - Setting up and configuring different parts of the infrastructure that runs the production systems for the company services.- Designing and implementing solutions to support the operations side of the company.- Creating monitoring dashboards of system metrics.- Contribute to the production owner rotation.The programming language is Go and some of the technologies that we use for the infrastructure are Terraform, Salt, Kubernetes, Helm, and Sops.I'm also developing the Rust bindings of the Storj SDK client as a volunteer spending 15% of our time on projects that aren't in the company roadmap.

Building an open source performant distributed object storage.I worked on several parts of the core product.The main tech stack is: Go, Postgres & Cockroach DB.

After previously worked in contract basis with Xact (see previous job position), they offered me to join to their core team for helping to improve the legacy services (Java, PHP, Web frontend, hybrid apps), migrating some and creating new ones in Go and Polymer.The team is led by Bas van Beek, one of the main contributors to go­kit (an open source microservice framework for Go created by Peter Bourgon https://gokit.io/) and Go open tracing.The long term and main goal for Xact, is create the new services in Go and Polymer, in a microservice architecture, connected with GRPC, for the most of them because it’s a good fit for the nature of their offered services.We are a fully distributed team.

I worked remotely with the Xact LLC software engineering team and several software engineers distributed across the globe for developing a registration platform for events which has a huge amount of participants.The engineering team was led and the architecture was defined by Bas van Beek, one of the main contributors to go­kit (an open source microservice framework for Go created by Peter Bourgon https://gokit.io/) and Go open tracing. It was built on top of go­kit using GRPC (HTTP2 + protocol buffers) with service discovery and load balancing, managed through Kafka, Prometheus (metrics) & Zipkin (tracing).The platform used extensively PostgreSQL as a main store, which required us to face a some tricky SQL queries.The frontend was created with Polymer which I wasn’t involved with the main developing of it, but I got some experience for fixing issues with the connection and design of the backend line which connected the frontend (HTTP JSON) with the internal APIs (GRPC + protocol buffers) exposed by the several microservices.We were a fully distributed team.

I created the frontend architecture and developed a Single Page Application, to accommodate a web application created mainly for desktop devices into mobile devices.The project involved (3 weeks time):- Find out how to use the same backend, due deadline of the project, to serve JSON data on mobile devices than rendering the views on the server- Create a Single Page Application architecture with a minimalist framework (RiotJS) to avoid high framework steep learning curve and keep it simple to beat the established hard the deadline.- Develop all the Single Page Application parts, view, logic and data layer to have the minimum required functionalities to have the first mobile version of the product.- Implement the maximum visual design, UX components and behavior of the designed interface, keeping a quite clean web assets organization.The project had a totally iterative evolution, dealing with decisions of time, quality, maintainability & UX to reach the first version of the project, where I was fully dedicated to the project, but keeping all the progress synchronized with the technical & the web design team to get feedback on the way but not distracting them of their assigned tasks.You can see first deployment, which doesn't contain some features implemented due they haven't currently put those in production, at https://ideas.decathlon.es/ Note you have to visit it with a mobile phone, if you visit with a computer you will see the usual website.

I've joined to Dream It Get It (also know as DIGIT) in the early stage of the company to help them to create a high availability “Visual Exploration” service.DIGIT offer a visual exploration service to increases user engagement and conversion by providing an intuitive visual browsing experience.It enables users to roam through large quantities of images via a simple one-click interface and rapidly discover things they like. I was contracted to participate in a two day event to create technology solutions for IBM Wimbledon to improve audience experience, ticketing/booking process and organization tasks.We worked in small teams in all the stages. iWaz.at (new start-up company) is a free app designed for both event attendees and organisers - we match attendees based on what they're looking for, what they can contribute and their shared interests, helping them both attract & find exactly who they're looking for in a crowded room.Organisers get a free, brandable event app that facilitates better audience engagement, permanently archives all their social & event chatter, while providing in-depth and beautifully visualised audience & event based analytics.So far, I've created its whole system platform from scratch, so I faced with all the stages that requires to build a web system application for an internet service company. I chose the technology stack to use, I designed the wholearchitecture and I code the most part of the application, moreover I've done system administration tasks, to setup code repositories, servers (Amazon WS and Rackspace) and platforms installations as NodeJS, MongoDB,Redis.io and AngularJS.I also developed some deployment scripts (DevOps) and design and apply a git branching model and I wrote some user guidelines and conventions to enhance the cooperation by the future development team. I made all my decisions to build a scalable system, bearing in mind that when the business grow, it will be able to support the clients demands and in terms of development, a development team of several members and the new features that the business will require, as well.
