Control Engineer
I worked as a control engineering intern under the instrumentation department and was supervised by the DGM Automation. I spent 11 months, and my training was organised using a schedule which enabled me transverse the various production sections of the plant. This gave me the opportunity to have a feel of the department in the various stages of cement production (Mining, stacking, grinding, heating, storing and packaging).Amongst daily operations, I was able to partake in the pre-commissioning of the newly constructed coal mill for line 4 and also, design and write a control program for a stacker using SIMATIC S7 and PCS 7. This has given me a better grasp of instrumentation and automation in the cement industry.
