The adventure TRAFINO S.A. started in 1988 is known today as Impact Investing. Pure tradition.Natural corozo buttons are an alternative for the fashion industry to replace those made of plastic (polyester), becoming more sustainable and reducing its carbon footprint. Gender equality is another important factor in this unique business model: a large part of the artisans involved in the distribuiton chain are women.TRAFINO is a company with deep environmental and social vision whose decisions are based on ethics. Thanks to the social thinking of its founder, Francisco Luna, who ceded most of his shares, now all the company's employees are shareholders and allocate 10% of the profits to an environmental and social fund. TRAFINO created the FOREVER LUNG Foundation to further multiply impact investment and promote effective transformations by working on the conservation and restoration of tropical forests where corozo palms grow. In addition, the organization manages resources to provide machinery and infrastructure to communities so they can add value to the nuts they collect and trains them in good management practices. In this way, they become the best guardians of the forest. TRAFINO´s most recent impact investment was the setting up of a plant with state-of-the-art facilities and machinery to produce natural white corozo powder as an alternative to replace plastic microbeads in the cosmetic industry and thus help protect our oceans.
