As research scientist in Intel Labs, I work on the future of autonomous systems and intelligent transportation. I lead several interdisciplinary teams worldwide working in multi-modal vehicle sensors, simulation, decision making, system architecture, data analytics, security, and distributed heterogeneous platforms. Our purpose is making autonomous driving a reality while making driving safer. Some of the topics I am currently working on include safe decision making, collaborative connected vehicles, fully automated vehicle user experience and future mobility experiences.

As Connected Drive manager I lead a team of IT professionals taking care of the off-board communications of BMW Group vehicles in mainland China and other Asian countries.My team is in charge of the ConnectedDrive system architecture, infrastructure and operations dealing with telematics and connected vehicle service providers in local Asian markets. We provide services such as Real Time Traffic Information, Navigation, Infotainment, News, Teleservices, Roadside Assistance, Concierge services and Mobility Services through smartphone and in-vehicle applications.

As a research associate at BMW IT Research Center I identified trends and innovations in the IT community that could benefit the company, both on the back-end and the front-end.I designed, developed and prototyped ideas on speech technologies, mobility services, user experience and production. Many of our solutions were implemented internally and built into real services for BMW customers. I worked on multinational, multidisciplinary teams with both academic and privat sector colleagues. We collaborated closely with companies such as Adobe, Apple, Intel, Microsoft, Nokia, Nuance as well as smaller contractors.
