This award focuses on the student's ability to balance academic achievement and contributing to their local community through extracurricular activities or volunteering as well as ensuring their own personal wellbeing. International Undergraduate Research Award (IURA, Research Award):Research award given to students who have shown exemplary academic merit, moreover, this award is given to students capable of developing, planning, and executing a personalized research proposal. Students are required to submit a detailed proposal, letter of personal intent, and pertinent time chart and budget.(IURA) Elucidating the Biosynthesis of Bicuculline in Corydalis Chelanthiofolia:Execution of my IURA award. This project focuses on the discovery of the biosynthesis of bicuculline through assorted techniques. Utilizing bioinformatics, gene candidates were identified through an in-house pipeline before mRNA was extracted and used to produce the necessary cDNA. Amplification and isolation of gene candidates is in progress.
