About Ignacio Caretti Giangaspro
Since 2017 I lead the R&D team at Soleras Advanced Coatings for the manufacturing by thermal spray technologies of sputter target materials used in the large area glass, automotive, display, solar cell, thin film battery and tribological/decorative industries. In this role I am responsible for expanding the company's product portfolio by developing new materials and processes for new and existing market segments, as well as optimizing production considering ISO standards on safety, quality and environment. I have a PhD in Applied Physics and over 20 years of professional experience in the design, study and manufacture of advanced materials with a wide range of industrial applications in the fields of sustainable energy, environmental remediation and green chemistry. I am an expert in the synthesis of materials by chemical and physical methods and their characterization by spectroscopic and microscopic techniques, being specialized in the structural study and physicochemical properties of covalent compounds, metals, alloys and metal oxides, as well as in the active center in catalysts (asymmetric, polymeric, photocatalysts), both at a fundamental level and in the industrial field. Throughout these years I have participated in multiple national and international projects, with numerous publications in renowned scientific journals, conference contributions and patents.
